Connect your own site to FloatPass

Connect your own website to FloatPass so purchases there are recorded as creator credits, alongside the credits you receive on the marketplace.

Besides listing on the Floatboat marketplace, you might have a website of your own. Maybe you're a teacher offering an online course, a designer offering templates, or a freelancer offering a handy little tool. FloatPass lets a site like that support one-time purchases.

Purchases there are recorded as creator credits in the same account as your marketplace credits, so you redeem everything in one place.

You can hand the setup to an agent. Download the FloatPass Skill, give the integration prompt to Claude Code, Codex, or a similar agent, and it wires FloatPass into your site. You won't need to write code yourself, but this page explains everything the agent does so you can keep an eye on it.

Requires an active Creator Plan

FloatPass is a Creator Plan benefit. To create keys or approve authorizations, your plan needs to be active, your qualification can't be suspended, and you can't have stopped operations. Haven't joined yet? See Get qualified to charge.

How credits are recorded

Before you set anything up, here's how purchases on your site show up in your account:

  • Purchases on your site are recorded as creator credits under the platform rules. The FloatPass page and the platform rules have the details.
  • They show up under Recent activity on the Creator Data page, marked FloatPass.
  • Like marketplace credits, they wait 30 days. After that you can redeem them for Floatboat credits.
  • If a buyer gets a refund, the matching credits are taken back.

Open FloatPass

In your browser, open FloatPass in Creator Center and sign in with your Floatboat account.

You can also get there from the app. Click your name at the bottom left, choose Developer Center, then click FloatPass on the left.

A browser at floatboat.ai/developer/floatpass. Creator Center's menu is on the left with FloatPass selected. Download Skill and Copy Integration Prompt at the top right are boxed and numbered 1 and 2. In the middle is a newly created key, fpk_live_7c2e9a41…, boxed with the note 'The full key is shown only once' and a copy button beside it. The list below shows Sam's template shop (Active) and Old site (retired) (Revoked).

Have an agent set it up

Download the Skill and copy the prompt

On the FloatPass page, click Download Skill and add the Skill to your website's project folder. Then click Copy Integration Prompt.

Think of the prompt as the agent's to-do list. It asks the agent to:

  • Get a key, so your site can talk to FloatPass.
  • Set up callback addresses and server-side credentials.
  • Create the products you'll sell (SKUs, meaning each item with its own price).
  • Connect the purchase flow to your site.
  • When buyers complete a purchase on your site, report it to FloatPass. That's what your credits are based on.
  • Reverse the original order if something fails along the way.

It also gives the agent some ground rules: reuse your site's existing sign-in and credit logic, leave existing subscriptions alone, keep the key on the server and out of Git, and check with you before going live or deploying.

Give the prompt to your agent

Open Claude Code or Codex in your website's project, paste the prompt, and let it start.

Approve the agent's request

When the agent gets to the point where it needs a key, it stops and gives you a 10-character authorization code. This is your chance to confirm it really is your agent asking. The code is valid for 10 minutes.

Go back to Agent authorization on the FloatPass page, enter the code under Authorization code, and click Check. The page shows what the agent is asking for: it can only manage your own FloatPass resources.

If that looks right, click Authorize key creation. The agent gets its key and carries on.

Test, then go live

Have the agent try a purchase and a refund in your test setup first. It'll check with you before going live or deploying.

Manage keys yourself

Rather not use an agent? You can create a key by hand. Give it a Key name you'll recognize, like your site's name, and click Create key.

The full key is shown only once. Click Copy key right away and save it in your site's server configuration. After that, the list only shows the first few characters (the prefix).

The list shows each key's name, prefix, and status (Active or Revoked). If you think a key has leaked, click Revoke key and create a new one.

What a key can and can't do

A key can only manage your own FloatPass resources, such as products and callbacks. It can't issue credits or touch the credits and settings in your account. So even if it leaks, nobody can take your creator credits. Still, revoke it promptly.

Something not working?

"Active Creator Plan required." Your account hasn't joined the Creator Plan, your plan has expired, or your qualification is suspended. Check the Creator qualification page.

The authorization code is rejected. Codes only last 10 minutes. Ask the agent to start again and use the new code.

You lost a key. A full key can't be shown a second time. Revoke the old one, create a new one, and swap it into your site's configuration.

Credits aren't showing. Make sure the buyer's purchase actually went through, then look for the FloatPass entry under Recent activity on the Creator Data page. New credits take 30 days to unlock.
