About Find Skills by Vercel Labs

Find Skills is a Skill published by Vercel Labs that helps an agent discover other Skills for a specific task. It addresses the gap between knowing the job and knowing whether a reusable instruction already exists. It does not perform every specialist task itself. For a design, testing, coding, or deployment request, it guides the agent to identify the domain and action, check established options, and search with focused keywords. The resulting shortlist explains what each candidate does, where it comes from, and how to install it. Find Skills provides the instructions; the Skills CLI supplies search and installation commands; skills.sh provides a browsing entry point. They work together, but have different roles.

Find Skills FAQ

What does Find Skills do?
It guides an agent to discover installable skills for a stated task, compare likely matches, and show the user how to install a selected one.
Does it install a skill automatically?
Discovery and installation are separate decisions. Ask for a shortlist first and review the source before authorizing an install.
Is the most-installed result always the right one?
No. Popularity can help with discovery, but the task fit, maintenance, instructions, and permissions still matter.
Where is the original skill?
The source is the find-skills SKILL.md in Vercel Labs' public skills repository, linked on this page.
How specific should my search request be?
Include the task, the tools you already use, and the output you need. “Review a React dashboard for unnecessary re-renders” gives a search more direction than “make my app better.”
What if none of the suggested Skills fit?
Inspect the closest source instructions and identify the missing capability. You can narrow the search or complete the task without installing a Skill; popularity does not make an unrelated instruction useful.
